Operation Bring Animals Home
Mission
The mission of Operation Bring Animals Home is to deploy volunteers to disaster areas for search and rescue of animals. We are experienced in search and rescue for Hurricanes Katrina, Isaac, Harvey and Irma. Once in the disaster areas we work off of donations to do everything possible to help save as many animals as possible. We are an all volunteer rescue from Pewaukee, WI.
About
OBAH Search and Rescue Team is a 501c3 non-profit. We are a nationally recognized group of emergency professionals (First Responders, Medical and Vet Personnel and Military) trained specifically for animal search and rescue in disaster situations. We utilize all the resources we have available to rescue animals left behind or displaced from the storm with hopes of reuniting them with their families. Please watch our videos on our Facebook page to fully understand the extent of our rescue. We returned home from Texas where we worked to help the animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey. We then headed to Florida to help the animals that were victims of Hurricane Irma. If you are interested in fostering or adopting a rescued animal please fill out an online application.
Our Story
OBAH began in Aug 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast. Our founder, Caryn Buege, was horrified and heartbroken watching the news channels broadcast pictures and video of animal clinging to life from a tree branch or on the roof of a vehicle being swept away by Katrina’s strong currents. What started as a good will deed to our southern neighbors of transporting supplies from WI to MS and LA, turned into what we are now…one of the only S&R teams focusing primarily on the animals. We don’t discriminate…we’ve rescued pot belly pigs, goats, horses, cattle, ducks, even a 9’ Boa Constrictor and many others! We will utilize an arsenal of supplies to get the job done and ensure, no one is left behind.
